A rare opportunity to work on beautiful Mt. Desert Island near Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  The Acadia Institute of Oceanography seeks to add 1-2 female teaching staff to work with our bright 10-19 year olds.  One-week and two-week programs.  Teach at the shore, on board boat and in the lab working closely with other staff members to implement lessons.  Hiking, whale watching and working with great kids and staff are the perks of the job.

Lead academic and recreational activities; must be able to drive or learn to drive a 15-passenger van which requires valid, clean driver's license; participate in support duties such as dishes, clean up, etc.   Housing will alternate between dorm with students and room with other staff.

Seeking applicant with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree (with preference given to Master's) in science related field and previous work with children. Preference will also be given to those with marine science teaching experience.  Field research a plus.  Flexibility and a positive attitude are a must.   Season runs from June 16-August 16 with some flexibility for start date only.  $360 per week plus room and board. Free summer membership at Bar Harbor YMCA. Pre-season set up: June 13-16.
