Ecological Coordinator

Yuma AZ


Fred Phillips Consulting, LLC is looking for an Ecological Coordinator at our Yuma, AZ office.  The position is ideal for a candidate who wishes to obtain hands-on experience in environmental restoration and project management.  The Ecological Coordinator will assist the Program Manager with day-to-day work that goes into the Yuma East Wetlands and similar projects. This position will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Assisting with all plant monitoring/ reports on revegetation projects
  • Getting herbicide applicator’s license and help oversee the herbicide spraying program
  • Assisting with daily/weekly construction observation and compliance reporting on wetland and riparian restoration projects in Yuma and surrounding areas
  • Helping implement volunteer based events within the YEW
  • Assisting with environmental surveys (vegetation, birds, mammals, etc)
  • Providing administrative assistance, secretarial support, and data management
  • Assisting with overall office management duties
  • Assisting the Yuma Program Manager with any additional duties that may arise

 

Requirements:

  • Must have degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work in extreme field conditions
  • Must be able to manage field crews
