Zip Line Guide (Sky Ranger)

Durango CO

Soaring Tree Top Adventures is the world’s largest zipline course, rated #1 on TripAdvisor.com. The course is located on the remote property of Tall Timber Resort, in the heart of the San Juan National Forest. Accessible only via the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, Soaring is a zipline experience delivered with five star service. Zipline guides, called Sky Rangers, are responsible for safely navigating guests through the treetops of an old growth Ponderosa Pine forest. Individuals must possess excellent people skills, a strong personality, and conduct themselves in a professional manner.

The primary responsibility of the Sky Ranger is to facilitate guests safe enjoyment of the Soaring zipline course. Guides are also responsible for daily course inspections, harness inspection, including course and equipment maintenance. The unique element of working in the trees requires Sky Rangers to have additional skills including the ability/strength to lift small children on and off the Soaring cables, send and receiving all guests to/from the platforms, climbing via ascenders up 40’ rope, rappelling, and feeling comfortable in such environments.

Our outgoing guides will need to be comfortable with public speaking, heights, standing for long hours, and be physically fit. No previous climbing experience is required, but prior experience is helpful. A background in the fields of Natural Resources and Interpretation, Outdoor Recreation; and first aid training is also beneficial. For more information please visit our website at http://www.soaringcolorado.com.

Please send current resume, and a brief cover letter describing related experience, and three professional references to Andrew at ecojob2013@hotmail.com.

  • Dates of employment: June 1, 2013-mid August (option to work until October).
  • Full-time seasonal position 40 plus hours/week paid on a salary of $1600/month.
  • Room and Board included.
  • Training will include a certified First Responder medical course.
  • Positions open until filled.
