The Community Engagement and Development Coordinator works on a variety of fundraising and community engagement activities in support of approved tactics and provides administrative and/or program support. The Community Engagement and Development Coordinator will work closely with philanthropy and communications staff to accomplish his/her objectives.



The Community Engagement and Development Coordinator will work towards meeting strategic priorities of the chapter by implementing tactics for increased support through the development and implementation of strategic engagement and fundraising plans, and the maintenance, tracking, and reporting on key data related to the teams’ priorities. S/he will ensure chapter participation in strategically selected external events to help raise the profile of the OK chapter, coordinate activities for the chapter’s volunteer program, oversee a group of Conservancy supporters to help build a donor and leadership pipeline for the chapter. The Coordinator maintains advanced skills within the Conservancy’s database system to process gifts, produce donor reports, perform analysis and research, and track prospects and donors. S/he must be well versed in the database system and be able to effectively communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. S/he will coordinate logistics for strategic donor field trips, community events and volunteer activities; and assist fundraisers in developing these strategies, in order to increase donors’ commitment to the organization over time. The Community Engagement and Development Coordinator will also be responsible for producing acknowledgment and stewardship letters and reports, as well as other personalized donor correspondence.



Investigate and ensure chapter participation in strategically selected internal and external events to help raise the profile of the OK chapter.

Manage the OK chapter’s Volunteer Program to reach the next generation of conservation leaders and supporters.

xecute strategic events and trips that advance the cultivation and stewardship of middle and major gifts, as well as inspire new audiences to get involved in the Conservancy’s work.

Input donor engagement activities into the donor database (Blackbaud CRMS); report notable trends and information about an activity’s return on investment to the philanthropy team.

Act independently on assigned tasks and exercise independent judgment based on analysis and experience.

Refers difficult questions and unusual problems to supervisor.

Draft donor correspondence such as development reports, event invitations, and speaker remarks.

Manage relationships with partners, donors, and volunteers.

Comply with TNC policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements.

Able to travel and work flexible hours as needed.

Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

Does not supervise any staff, but may supervise interns, volunteers, and/or temporary staff.

Duties are performed under general supervision and established guidelines.

Serve as a team member for assigned projects.



Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and 1 year related experience or equivalent combination.

Experience in business writing, editing, and proofreading.

Experience managing diverse activities to meet deadlines.

Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people.

Experience generating reports and/or interpreting data.

Experience with database administration and spreadsheet software.

Experience working across teams.

Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of relevant field.



Solid knowledge of word processing, database management and spreadsheet software, with ability to construct and produce reports, use mail merges, and complete other advanced functions.

Experience in graphic design.

Experience in creative writing or storytelling.

Ability to interpret guidelines and use existing technology to achieve desired results.

Skilled at analyzing information for the purpose of coordinating and planning activities, and solving problems.

Comfortable working under pressure, performing repetitive data entry tasks, and creating and managing realistic timelines.

Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of influential people such as vendors, the public, donors, influencers, trustees, chapter leadership, and others.

Ability to establish, cultivate, and steward constructive and effective relationships with colleagues, partners, and potential donors.

Excellent oral communication skills for working with volunteers, staff and donors, and speaking in front of small and large groups.

Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles & practices.

Strong organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.



This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with the Conservancy's Auto Safety Program. Employees may not drive Conservancy-owned/leased vehicles, rental cars, or personal vehicles on behalf of the Conservancy if considered "high risk drivers." Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.



Job Family: Marketing & Development

Salary Range: $16-$20 per hour
